Star Wars fans and theme park enthusiasts alike were longing for a location to rejoice together. Thankfully, since 2019, they can do that now as Star Wars: Galaxy Edge in Disney World is a uniquely immersive experience that brings all fans of all ages together! Throughout the land, transport to the Planet of Batuu and explore Black Spire Outposts as you delve into the scenes that Disney has set up!
Everyone wants to make the most of their time at the Parks and avoid aimlessly wandering around. To achieve this, checking the location of each attraction beforehand is essential. By doing so, you can become an expert at navigating the Parks, enabling you to spend more quality time in your preferred areas. The same holds true for Star Wars: Galaxy Edge. This popular attraction can be found at Disney’s Hollywood Studios theme park, conveniently located on the eastern side of the park, close to the Muppet*Vision 3D attraction and the popular Toy Story Land setup.
Upon arrival, to access Galaxy’s Edge, you can enter through one of two entrances – either from Grand Avenue, near the park’s main entrance, or from Toy Story Land. If you step inside, the experience will transport you to the planet of Batuu, a remote outpost on the galaxy’s edge that Star Wars fans, like myself, may already know about.
You will quickly notice that the grounds are fully immersive, with no visible signage or hints of the outside world. This fully draws you in and makes you feel like you are one of the galaxies’ participants. The designers have crafted every detail, including the architecture and the food and drink options, to create an immersive experience where guests feel like they have actually stepped into the Star Wars universe and left Earth behind. Even though the Imagineers have put together other tremendous locations around the Parks, the small intricacies of Star Wars: Galaxy Edge make it one of the most spectacular places on the grounds.
Star Wars: Rise Of The Resistance
Heading on the Millenium Falcon: Smugglers Run is genuinely an amazing experience in itself, but I have to say that Rise of the Resistance may top it as being one better. It is quite an astounding ride that takes you on a dramatic journey through the world of Star Wars. From the moment you step into the attraction, you’re engrossed in the story and transported to a galaxy far, far away, which I have to say will have you wowed in itself. The ride flawlessly blends multiple ride systems and technologies to create an immaculate atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re part of the action. Even the queue before the ride itself is a moment to be a part of, with its beyond-belief theming and connected elements that assist in building the story to create anticipation for what’s to come on the ride.
Moving on to the ride itself, as soon as you board the vehicle, the adventure immediately takes off, so don’t wait for a second to get ready for the action. As you make your way through the escapade, get ready to dodge laser blasts and face Kylo Ren himself. The action is non-stop and incredibly rousing! All in all, the attention to detail in the set design and animatronics is truly remarkable, making you feel like you’re really in the midst of a battle between the Resistance and the First Order. Whether you are a Stars Wars fan or just a simple theme park enthusiast, Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is coming next! It is a true feat of engineering and storytelling, and an experience you won’t soon forget!
Characters To See
Without being able to see the beloved characters we grew up watching and continue to follow in the epic Star Wars series, our experience would be lacking. However, visitors to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge at Disney World can rest assured that they will have the opportunity to spot some of the most iconic characters from the franchise. This is undoubtedly one of the most exciting aspects of the park. Below, I have listed a few of the famous Star Wars characters that you should keep an eye out for while exploring the land:
- Chewbacca — Guests frequently spot the beloved Wookiee strolling around the land, using his unique language to interact with visitors and happily posing for quick pictures with anyone who wants one.
- Rey — You can usually find this Jakku scavenger, who became widely celebrated for her heroic efforts in the most recent Star Wars trilogy, in the training section. She teaches recruits near the X-wing fighter.
- Kylo Ren – The Jedi Padawan Supreme Leader of the First Order Master of the Knights of Ren will almost always be seen stalking the land, in hopes to find any Resistance spies to take out.
- Stormtroopers — These iconic soldiers of the Empire patrol the land, keeping a watchful eye on guests to guarantee that the First Order’s orders are being followed to a tee. They aren’t hard to miss as they will be everywhere. Plus points for you if you happen to dress up as one as you head onto their land!
Finally, you’ve had a delightful day and are looking to fill that tummy of yours up with some flavorful food and refreshing beverages. Even though you may not think beforehand that Star Wars: Galaxy Edge may be the place to go for good eats, one of the highlights of visiting Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World is the opportunity to sample the unique and exotic food and drink offerings. The land features several dining options, each with its own theming and menu. One particular spot that draws big crowds is Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo, which offers a variety of dishes inspired by different planets in the Star Wars galaxy. A few of the options comprise the Smoked Kaadu Ribs, the Felucian Garden Spread, and the Batuuan Beef Pot Roast.
In the event that the influx of guests becomes too overwhelming, there is another excellent dining option available at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Ronto Roasters is a standout eatery that specializes in mouth-watering grilled meats, with their signature dish being the Ronto Wrap. This delicious pita is filled with roasted pork, grilled sausage, and tangy slaw, making it an absolute must-try. However, if you have already had your fill of a main meal and find yourself craving something sweet, the Milk Stand is the perfect spot to visit. This establishment offers the famous Blue Milk or Green Milk, both of which are dairy-free and boast a blend of exotic flavors that are sure to tantalize your taste buds.
