Tips For Galaxy’s Edge Disney World: 2022 Tips and Tricks

Tips for Galaxy’s Edge Disney World, your 2023 guide to ensure your trip reaches its full potential.

Galaxy's Edge had recently opened back in May of 2019. Since its opening in 2019, people have been swarming to visit this new location.

In this guide, we will be going over tips and tricks to ensure your visit goes as smoothly as possible.

Tip #1- Plan to visit outside of peak visit time

Disney has its peak crowding time around spring to summer. As this is the time kids are off for spring and summer break. Helping avoid severe crowds, I recommend visiting in the fall. September and November are the least busy months at Disney World.

It seems that the most recommended time to visit is specifically after or before Holidays or school breaks. This way you can enjoy the parks without too much crowding from tons of families bringing their children. Therefore, you can try to plan your trip around these peak seasons.

Tip #2 – Expect Crowding:

Firstly, you want to know what to expect. It is going to be crowded. Galaxy's Edge is one of the newest lands in Disney, and everyone wants to come in and check it out.

It is also important to note that the fan base for Star Wars is huge. Therefore, Galaxy’s Edge is bound to have crowds!

Don't let this deter you from visiting, as crowds are expected everywhere at Disney. No matter what part of the park you are in, crowding is something to expect. This is because Disney is a popular vacation spot, to begin with!

Tip #3 – Have your map on hand:

Galaxy’s edge can be a bit complicated to explore. However, a map on hand can make your trip so much easier. It's important to have it when you get to the city center. The City Center is where it starts getting tricky to navigate. That said, it is super easy to get off track and confused.

One thing to note is that most of the signs here in Galaxy’s edge city center are in Aurebesh. Therefore, having a map on hand here becomes even more desirable. (Unless you happen to be fluent in Aurebesh, which I highly doubt)

However, if you're still having a hard time navigating your way through, the cast members in Batuu are always super friendly and willing to help! Never be afraid to ask for help here in the Galaxy, as everyone here is just looking to have a good time, just like you!

Tip #4 – Arrive early to ride “Rise of the Resistance”

If riding “Rise of the Resistance” is on your to-do list, then it is highly recommended to arrive as early as possible. Perhaps even an hour before the official park opening to ensure you get to ride it before crowding endures.

If you don’t arrive early for pre-crowding, I’d recommend skipping these new rides until later in the day. While enjoying other attractions at Galaxy’s Edge, you can easily keep track of the lines here in the lines app. This way you can watch the estimated wait times and wait until the lines have died down quite a bit.

Tip #5 – Make your Droid or Saber at the end of your visit

One common mistake made by Galaxy’s Edge visitors is that they decide to come here first thing in the morning. That is understandable, as this is a super cool attraction. However, this makes for extra luggage to carry around throughout your visit.

To make your trip easier it’s recommended to go here towards the end of your visit. This way you don’t have tons of extra items to carry around. This should make being on your feet throughout the park much easier.

Tip #6 – Prepare to stand at Oga’s Cantina

Visiting Oga’s Cantina is a must during your trip here! The overall ambiance and attention to detail are amazing here. However, after a long day in the Florida heat, I'm sure you’ll want to sit and relax. That said, it’s important to note that most of the rooms here are standing rooms only. Unless you have a large party, as the booths are reserved for larger groups of people.

Due to this fact alone, you may want to visit earlier in the day. This way you haven't been walking around the parks all day long. Trust me, your achy feet will most definitely appreciate it at the end of the day.

However, don't let this deter you from visiting. It is such a unique experience! You will not want to miss it! Especially if this is your first time at Galaxy’s edge!

Tip #7 – Visit twice!

I recommend visiting twice, once in the morning and once at night. Breaking up your plans into two’s makes it easier to visit everything on your list. Once in the morning and once at night. This is by far one of the best ways to beat crowds. Visiting once before crowding begins and once after they have died down. This can ensure you get to visit all the attractions on your “must-have” list!

However, If you choose not to visit twice in one day you can always choose to visit in the early mornings or late at night. That way you still beat the crowds but don’t spend as much time here. This is mostly beneficial if you are limited on time for your Disney trip and want to visit more than just Galaxy’s Edge.

Tip #8 – Use Mobile Order for Food

After a long day of walking through the Galaxy, you’re sure to be hungry! That said, I doubt you’ll want to have to endure waiting in a long line. One way you can skip the lines is by using mobile orders. This can be done using the “My Disney Experience App” at select locations.

Not only is this convenient for a long day of walking around Disney. It’s convenient for avoiding the pressure to order in the wait lines full of people! This way everyone is sure to order what they want to eat.

You may be wondering, “What places accept mobile orders?”

Here is the list of places in Galaxy’s Edge that accept Mobile Orders.

  • Ronto Roasters
  • Milk Stand
  • Docking Bay 7 Food and Cargo

Oga’s Cantina is very popular, so be aware they do not accept mobile orders! If you are planning on stopping by, be sure to have a reservation set in place ahead of time! This way you don’t miss out on visiting!
